Lighting the path
To continue our journey, St. Luke's Church has launched a $1.25 million campaign. Our goal is to provide responsible stewardship, renovate our historic facilities, and continue our commitment to care for the greater church community. In short, we want to:
renovate the church, retire the debt and
expand outreach by rebuilding the Bancroft Fund, a percentage of which funds our outreach initiatives.
Our 175-year-old church is on the National Register of Historic Places as one of the nations finest examples of Greek Revival architecture. Our Parish House was built in 1906 as Granville's first Village Hall. With these historic properties, St. Luke's has a strong presence in the heart of downtown Granville. Revitalizing our historic gem will safeguard the legacy of this parish, provide spiritual refreshment and renewal to our region, and light the path for our faith-filled journey forward.
Campaign projects include:
- Repairing the building structure including the roof and balcony to support a new organ (near future) and mechanical systems
- Renovating the Undercroft and kitchen for events and education
- Restoring interior worship space
- Adding an elevator to the Parish House and reconfiguring the office
- Retiring the debt on the Parish House to free operating dollars for ministry while improving the interior of the building
Finding true north
St. Luke's has made outreach a priority by investing fundraising dollars in outside ministries. Therefore, some of the funds raised in this campaign will be used to expand our important outreach.
- The Food Pantry Network of Licking County, Licking County Coalition for Housing, Licking County Department of Job and Family Services, Community Health Clinic, New Beginnings Domestic Violence Shelter
- Faith Mission homeless relief agency in Columbus, Episcopal Community Services Foundation, The Open Door Community in Atlanta
- Healing Art Missions in Haiti, Church World Services (CROP), Episcopal Relief and Development, and various programs serving the people of Nicaragua, Ethiopia, and Kenya
