HEALTH AND WELLNESS MINISTRY

The Health and Wellness Ministry continues to work in multiple ways to bring events and

information to improve the health and well-being of our St. Luke's family and the wider

community.

The Prayer Shawl Ministry continues to meet twice monthly on the first and third Thursday from

7:00-9:00 pm in the Parish House. All are welcome to drop in and bring your hand work for

shared time working together, whether knitting, crocheting, or hand quilting shawls, lap robes,

etc. These items are then given to people who are experiencing health challenges, keeping

them warm and visually reminding them that they are prayed for and remembered. Celeste

Nichols is working on her second prayer shawl already!

There are several events in the works by the Health and Wellness Ministry for the upcoming

year. There will be a Lenten series presented during Coffee: Grounds for Discussion in

collaboration with Adult Education with several guest speakers on the topic of Holy Living/Holy

Dying (see details elsewhere in the newsletter). Dr. Jimi James will once again lead nature

lovers of all ages in a Spring Spiritual Nature Walk on April 28. This will be a wonderful time of

the year to get out, get moving, and discover God's beautiful wildflowers. Time and location will

be announced shortly. We also look forward to the annual Family Bike Ride on the first Sunday

of June, which will be June 2 this year. Again, all ages are welcome-and rewarded with possible

eagle sightings along the bike path and ice cream upon return!

The Health and Wellness Ministry continues to meet quarterly. Our next meeting will be May 19,

2019. These meetings are always after the last Sunday service of the date, for an hour meeting

in the Parish House. All are welcome to join us-and bring your friends and ideas for reaching out

to more people in the name of health.
