St. Luke's is a caring community with compassion for all of God's children — and we are all God's children. Our special focus is feeding the hungry.

Helping others

At St. Luke’s, Outreach means lending a helping hand to others in need. We believe we are the hands of Christ, bringing light and life into the world, especially by feeding the hungry.

A St. Luke’s hallmark is our commitment to service. Our external ministries team supports our members as we move out into the community, serving as Christ’s hands in the world. These teams help support the Market Street Pantry, which supplies food to the hungry; the Granville Turkey Trot, our annual Thanksgiving Fun Run that raises considerable funds for the Licking County Food Pantry; and we serve the homeless at the St. Vincent de Haven Shelter in Newark.

The Market Street Pantry

St. Luke's operates the Market Street Pantry in nearby Newark, a year-round initiative opening twice a week to provide food and other necessities to those in need. The Market Street Pantry is a partner of the Food Pantry of Licking County. The Market Street Pantry served 665 families from July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024. Some of those families came each month and some only a handful of times. Families range from having 1 person in the household up to 12 people.

We are a fun-loving group! As we serve our friends and neighbors, our community grows closer. If you have a heart for helping others, please join us! If you have as little as an hour to give, you can help someone in need.

Volunteer Today! Directions to Market Street Pantry

Donations are Welcome! Did you know that food stamps cannot be used for the purchase of personal care or cleaning items and that laundry detergent is the most stolen item from grocery stores? Market Street Pantry asks for donations of these vital products: Any toiletries (soap, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, razors for men or women) and any type of household cleaning supplies. Also, we always accept check donations! (please include in the memo line, Market Street Pantry)

The Granville Turkey Trot

This annual Thanksgiving Day 5K Fun Run/Walk is a Granville tradition that launched right here in St. Luke’s in 2005! Thanks to our community sponsors, most of our proceeds benefit the Food Pantry Network of Licking County. We raise tens of thousands of dollars each year to support the Food Pantry Network of Licking County. Presented by St. Luke’s Church, Granville, this family-friendly holiday outing has become a Thanksgiving tradition for runners and walkers, young and old. **This is a non-time event.
