The Stitchin' Babes Respond To Local Need
Thanks to all who responded to the invitation of the Health and Wellness Ministry to join our local group The Stitchin’ Babes, to sew face masks in order to protect the community from the spread of COVID-19.
Jimi James, Wendy Flowers, Chris Dargusch, Sally McClaskey, Shelly Morehead, Dagny Gelormo, Tracee Laing and Mary Tuominen signed on and contributed to the Babes’ current count of 1,800 masks (!) sewn and distributed to organizations including the Market Street Pantry, St. Vincent Haven, the Salvation Army, and Licking County Coalition for Housing. In addition, St. Luke’s mask makers have made and distributed over 100 face masks within the parish.
St. Luke’s also served as the fiscal agent for a grant awarded to The Stitchin’ Babes from the Granville Community Foundation for the purchase of supplies used in mask making. Our thanks to St. Luke’s for playing this important role.
Please remember – always wear a face mask when you are in public. We can all be asymptomatic and spread COVID-19 for days before we even know we are ill.
“I protect you and you protect me” when we all wear face masks”
