Senior Salute!
Just like so many other events this spring, high school graduations will happen virtually, but St. Luke’s did not want to miss the opportunity to celebrate our six seniors. Congratulations to them and their families on their achievements and Godspeed from your St. Luke’s family.
Penelope "Penny" Hunter – Granville High School Class of 2020
Plans To Attend: Macalester College, Saint Paul, Minnesota
Studying: Environmental & Political Science
College Sport: Track
Daughter of Dr. John Hunter and Dr. Karen Goodell.
Penny has lived in Granville since 2004. She was baptized at St. Luke’s in 2008 by Father Stephen Applegate and confirmed in 2016. Penny studied flute in the Denison Suzuki program for 14 years and occasionally got to play in church. She was a member of the Choristers choir for many years and traveled with the choir to England in 2012.
In high school, Penny ran track, played in the symphonic band, and took on leadership roles in student council and the Youth in Government club. Penny plans to attend Macalester College whenever it opens, where she will study Environmental Studies and Political Science and run track.
Winona "Nona" Hunter – Granville High School Class of 2020
Plans To Attend: Connecticut College, New London, Connecticut
Studying: Environmental Studies
Daughter of Dr. John Hunter and Dr. Karen Goodell
Just like her sister, Nona has lived in Granville since 2004. She was baptized at St. Luke’s in 2008 by Father Stephen Applegate and confirmed in 2016. Nona studied cello in the Denison Suzuki program for 14 years and occasionally got to play in church. She has participated in many orchestras and smaller ensembles including All-State Orchestra in 2020. She was a member of the Choristers choir for many years and traveled with the choir to England in 2012.
In high school, Nona played field hockey and ran track all four years. She participated in Spanish Club Youth and Youth in Government. Nona plans on attending Connecticut College to study Environmental Studies.
Allison Moore – Granville High School Class of 2020
Plans To Attend: Grinnell College, Grinnell, Iowa
Studying: Political Science & Spanish
Arts: Orchestra
Daughter of Dr. Marita Moore
Allison has been a part of the Granville and St. Luke’s family since she was seven years old. In the church, she has served as an acolyte, crucifer, Sunday School helper, and worked in the nursery. She has played her flute since she was eleven and has played for church services.
Allison will attend Grinnell College in Iowa majoring in Political Science and Spanish. Throughout high school, she was active in Spanish Club, served as president of Spanish Honor Society and Democrats Club. She is a member of National Honor Society, Cum Laude, and is a National Merit Commended Scholar. She ran cross country and track for four years and took five years of private lessons in flute. She is planning to continue playing in orchestra in college.
Allison is greatly appreciative of St. Luke’s church and all its members.
Ryan Pasqualetti – Johnstown High School Class of 2020
Plans To Attend: Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio
Studying: Biomedical Engineering
Son of Russell and Janet Pasqualetti and grandson of Joseph and Margaret Ethier
Ryan graduates with honors from Johnstown High School, where he played varsity soccer and served as captain on the Northeast Storm varsity ice hockey team. He sang with the Double Q a capella group, comprised of the school’s top eight singers, for the past two years and in Chorale.
Ryan will attend Ohio State University in Columbus this fall, majoring in Biomedical Engineering with plans to attend medical School.
Spencer Poling – Granville High School Class of 2020
Plans To Attend: Miami University, Oxford, Ohio
Studying: Environmental Studies
Son of Chad and Tamra Poling
Spencer plays trumpet and was in Granville High School Marching Band for five years. He was also active in concert band, symphonic band, and jazz band. He has a great love of music and his favorite pastime is playing guitar.
Spencer will attend Miami University in the fall to major in Environmental Studies. He attending St. Luke’s and will miss his St. Luke’s family while he is studying in Oxford, Ohio.
Max Scheetz – Granville High School Class of 2020
Plans To Attend: Ohio State University, Newark, Ohio
Studying: History
Club Sport: Ultimate Frisbee
Son of Michelann Scheetz
Max has been a Granville Blue Ace since moving to Granville at age 4. A member of the youth group, Max was confirmed at St. Luke's and served as a torch bearer, crucifer, and reader.
Max participated in several sports over the years from soccer, baseball, wrestling, archery, basketball, football, and martial arts, finally finding one that checks all the boxes for him in Ultimate Frisbee. A member of the Granville High School Drama Club, Max had a role in 6 of the school plays and earned his Thespian award his freshman year. He is a member of Young Life and enjoys Bible study and participating in discussions of religious theology. Max will attend OSU-Newark in the fall, majoring in History and playing on the school's Ultimate team.
Ethan McAtee – Denison University Class of 2020
Degree: B of A in Cinema
This Summer Plans: Evening Program Director at YMCA Camp Gorham, Adirondack Mountains, Upstate New York
