Pastoral Care @ St. Luke's

DID YOU KNOW?

The goal of the members of St. Luke's Pastoral Care Committee is to provide compassionate and caring support for one another just as Christ loves and cares for us. We do so through caring relationships, attentiveness to parishioners' pastoral needs, assisting and nurturing members in time of crisis and transition, and striving to keep connected with all members of the church family especially the home bound, elderly, infirm, and those who are physically or emotionally challenged.

To work toward achieving this goal, members of the committee met after the 11:00 AM worship service on Sunday, October 20th to review progress to date. One important outcome of our conversation was to remind our fellow parishioners of the ministries available to them.

Did you know that:

  • Eucharistic Visitors can bring communion to members who are unable to attend worship services at church?

  • That Friendly Visitors can pay social calls to members who may be in home or nursing home care?

  • That St. Luke's Card Ministry sends cards to parishioners who have had surgery, have been ill, have had a death in the family, are experiencing challenges, or have a new baby in their home?

  • That St. Luke's Prayer Chain is comprised of a group of our members who pray daily for those people on the prayer list that is prepared each week in the church office?

  • That St. Luke's Meal Train service is available to any member of St. Luke’s who needs food assistance in the form of prepared meals?

To avail yourself or a family member of any one of these ministries, contact the church office at 740-587-0167. And watch future issues of “The Good News” for updated information on the work of St. Luke's Pastoral Care Committee.
