Truth or Reconciliation? The Cultural Rhetoric of National Museums with Dr. Elizabeth Weiser - Via Zoom
Elizabeth Weiser, Professor of Rhetoric, Department of English at The Ohio State
Tuesday, November 10, 2020 7:00-8:00 pm

Civil war, occupation, genocide. National museums in many nations have had to walk the difficult line between telling the truth about past atrocities and reconciling divided constituents. One rhetorical term for this is the "comic corrective." In this time of U.S. division, cultural rhetoric may provide some insight into what may be necessary for renewed national identification.

Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math (S.T.E.A.M.) talks are informal community based open forum discussions featuring different topic leaders each month. Free and open to the public.

This program is part of the Blowing Off S.T.E.A.M. series which is in collaboration among Denison University, the Granville Public Library and OSU Newark.

Registration Required here through the Granville Public Library. You will receive an email with the Zoom meeting information about an hour before the start of the program.
