Labor Day's Shortfall
A Note From Market Street Pantry…
Monday, September 7 we commemorate Labor Day to thank all our workers in America. As we celebrate them this year, note that Ohio unemployment has increased dramatically thanks to the Pandemic. Poverty and hunger are everywhere including Licking County. Many jobs in recent times are low wage and/or part time and/or temporary in nature. Many of our employed and all our unemployed people cannot put adequate food on the table for their families. Consider this disturbing statistic:
At least one in four Ohio families with children did not have enough money to buy adequate food at some point recently.
Thus, our Mission at Market Street Pantry is more important than ever. Your donations are much appreciated. You can donate on the St Luke’s website and specify that its for Market Street Pantry.
