The Facts...

As of today, there are 20 days until the streets of Granville become filled with people who will lend their support to the Granville Turkey Trot and in turn support the Food Pantry Network of Licking County. Ever wonder what that support looks like once the race is over?

Last year’s donation of $90,000 from the Turkey Trot helped the pantry distribute over ½ million pounds of food to those who need it in Licking County. That translates into almost 7.5 million fluid ounces of milk, over 18 million cups of all-purpose flour, 10 million cups of butter and my favorite, 800,000 cups of peanut butter. That amount of food would keep me in peanut butter cookie heaven for life! However, that is a fraction of the amount of food distributed by the pantry this year. As of September 30, 2022, the pantry had distributed over 3 million pounds of food with another ton anticipated by year’s end.

As staggering as these numbers are, it wouldn’t be possible without all the runners, walkers, spectators, volunteers, and sponsors who help to make the Granville Turkey Trot the success it is year after year.
