Special Sunday Services, January 22
8 am: Morning Prayer at St. Luke’s: led by Dixon Miller
10 am: MLK service at Denison
We’re taking St. Luke’s on a (short) road trip this Sunday, and heading up to Denison’s Herrick Hall to enjoy a service in the tradition of the Ebenezer Baptist Church and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The service will begin at 11 am.
You do NOT need to register.
Transportation to the entrance of Herrick Hall will be provided for those with mobility issues.
Here’s how it will work:
9:30 am: St. Luke’s doors open as usual
10 am: We will offer Coffee Grounds for discussion around Martin Luther King’s life and legacy, with refreshments & lively and thoughtful conversation.
10:45 am: We will adjourn and drive to Denison campus.
Service will take place at Herrick Hall (the round building next to the Library).
The parking garage will be open and have abundant free parking.
Someone will stand in the parking garage and point the way to Herrick.
For those with mobility issues, we have a Denison van that can hold up to 7 passengers.
We have permission to drive the van on the sidewalk to the entrance of Herrick.
11 am: The worship service, officiated by the Rev. Tim Carpenter begins.
Glorious music will be provided by the Denison Gospel Choir!
12:30 pm: We will provide return transportation to St. Luke’s
