Let's Talk About Reclaiming Joy

Coffee: Grounds for Discussion during Lent
Topic: Reclaiming Joy
When: Sundays, February 26-March 26, 11:15 am - 12:15 pm | Undercroft
Speaker: Pastor Elizabeth and company

Yes, a series on JOY for Lent! Joy is not the absence of suffering, but is recognizing God's companionship and creation inside and outside of us, even in very difficult times. During the past few years, joy may have dwindled in our lives due to Covid and other factors. But joy is right around us, and we get to remember how to tap into it

How can we reclaim joy in our lives, and support others in having joy? Drawing on sources including our own lives, the Bible, The Book of Joy by Desmond Tutu and the Dalai Lama, and Joyful: The Surprising Power of Ordinary Things  by Ingrid Fetell Lee, we will consider factors like energy, play, freedom, our use of language, and noticing what is around us to allow joy back into our lives. Open to everybody! There is no required reading, just bring an open mind, your smart phone if you have one, and a willing Spirit.
