Caring For Creatures & Creation

Psalm 104:24-25: O Creator, how manifold are your works! In wisdom you have made the mall; the earth is full of your creatures.Yonder is the sea, great and wide, creeping thingsinnumerable are there, living things both small and great.

St. Luke’s has joined the Pollinator Pathway! We have planted more than 30 varieties of native perennials between the church and the walkway we share with the Granville Historical Society, to attract a variety of native bee, butterfly, moth and fly pollinators — every insect, plant, and bird we support is a beautiful member of God’s creation.

St. Luke’s Pollinator Pathway garden also provides soil nesting sites for local bees and a refuge for insects and birds stopping over along their migratory pathways. As these plants grow, we expect them to fill the beds with flowers and foliage, making our church a welcoming place for our beneficial insect friends.

Every blade of grass has its Angel that bends over it and whispers, "Grow, grow."
The Talmud

We are grateful for memorial funds use to purchase the plants and trust this garden is a fitting tribute to those who have shared their bounty with us.

Psalm 96:11-12: Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; let the sea roar, and all that fills it; let the field exult, and everything in it. Then shall all the trees of the forest sing for joy.

For to the bee a flower is a fountain if life
And to the flower a bee is a messenger of love
