Church Restoration July Updates

Join us this Sunday for a brief update from the Building and Maintenance team on the work being done in the sanctuary. Sample photos were provided by Bill Wilken of the progress, including these two of of the pulpit and the two newel posts. You will see the intricate craftsmanship that went into the original design now that the layers of paint have been removed.

In addition, please indulge yourself the time to read the RANDOM NOTES ABOUT ST. LUKE’S ROBBINS HUNTER, JR., 1950, WITH COMMENTS BY HORACE KING that was forwarded to us by Bill Wilken. I believe you will have a renewed appreciation for the love, labor and acquisitions  undertaken by members of St. Luke’s over a century ago. Those forward thinking forefathers provided the care required to maintain our historic church, just as the current restorations and maintenance will do for generations to come. There is no doubt St. Luke’s will stand as a sacred place of worship where people will kneel and give thanks and praise well into the future.
