Danyelle Phelps
Danyelle Phelps relocated to the Granville area in 2017 for work, although her family roots are deeply embedded in Ohio. Throughout her life, she has experienced living in various parts of the United States. Raised in a family actively involved in the United Methodist Church, Danyelle has worshiped with different denominations and independent churches as an adult. In 2010, she joined the Episcopal Church in Charleston, SC, and began worshiping with St. Luke's in Ohio in 2021.
Danyelle's passion for church music began at an early age. With her mother being a church organist, she has always been surrounded by music and has sung or played instruments in church for as long as she can remember. At St. Luke's, she enjoys sharing her musical talents on the violin and participates in the Worship Committee. Additionally, she volunteers with the technical aspects of the online Sunday YouTube Live-streaming, often found in the balcony preparing the setup for Sunday services.
Outside of St. Luke's, Danyelle serves as the Environmental Director at Owens Corning, working at the Owens Corning Science and Technology Center in Granville within the Sustainability Department. Her career in Environmental and Sustainability Management in manufacturing reflects her passion for helping companies responsibly produce the everyday items we all need and use. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Forest and Natural Resource Engineering from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry at Syracuse and a Master of Environmental Management degree from Duke University.
In her personal time, Danyelle enjoys growing flower gardens and spending hours watching the pollinators. She also plays the Irish fiddle in the band Celts Crossing (be sure to catch them around St. Patrick's Day) and enjoys playing the Celtic harp. With numerous hobbies, she delights in any activity that allows her to be creative and experiment with color and texture. Danyelle resides in Ellington Village with her two very spoiled tortoiseshell cats.
