Health & Wellness Ministry In March

The Health and Wellness Ministry met on February 9 to plan programs for the upcoming year. One of our most popular events for the entire congregation will return this Spring. Dr. Jimi James will once again lead a Spring Spiritual Nature Walk on Sunday afternoon, April 19. The time and location will be announced shortly. Those who have participated in the Nature Walks in the past know what an informative and special time together this is. All ages are welcome-a wonderful way to spend a Spring afternoon with the entire family!

Also, on Sunday, April 19, Dr. Jimi James will present the topic Single Use Plastics at the Coffee: Grounds for Discussion hour. Mark your calendars now to attend this timely, informative talk. More details to follow.

The Prayer Shawl ministry continues to meet the first and third Thursday of each month during the program year. The group gathers in the Parish House at 7:00 pm. Anyone who knits, or crochets is welcome to be part of this important ministry as the group creates special shawls or lap robes as a visual reminder for those experiencing challenging times.

The Ministers in our Midst acknowledgements continue. To date, four nominations for this recognition have been received. Please see further information for Ministers in our Midst in this newsletter.

The Health and Wellness Ministry is in the preliminary planning stages of developing a program for Advent that will involve travel and inclusion of all St. Luke's members. Tentatively titled BETHLEHEM-AND BEYOND, the program will include components for body, mind, and spirit. As details are finalized, they will be shared with the St. Luke's family. This promises to be a new and exciting event for the health of our parish!

The next regular meeting for the Health and Wellness Ministry will be Sunday, May 31, immediately after the 10:00 am service in the Parish House. (please note-summer schedule)
