Make A Difference

This past Thursday marks 5-weeks until the Granville Turkey Trot hits the streets, and the excitement is building.

This year we will not only have a new t-shirt design printed on the soft cotton shirts everyone loves but we will also have warm hoodies and new beanies for sale. Be sure to come to the Granville Farmer’s Market this Saturday and next to check out a few. While you’re there, why not register and/or sign up to volunteer. As a committee we often get asked what the race benefits and why it is so important. As with past years the need never stops. The Food Pantry Network of Licking County, although they don’t depend on the Turkey Trot for funding, can always use the help to support their mission. In the past year the number of family households in Licking County utilizing food pantries has increased by 29.74%. These households include children who depend on the pantries for meals every day.

Each week I’ll be sharing more facts and figures from the pantry in order to keep our church members in the loop with the need in our county as well as the great work being done to feed the hungry. In the meantime, please take a minute to review the volunteer page of the website and fill a spot for a couple of hours. I think you’ll be glad you did.
