Honoring Earth Day Future!
St. Luke’s is celebrating Earth Day throughout April! We invite you, your families and friends to join! This year we honor and celebrate actions from the past, highlight present actions, and plan positive impacts in the future.
Honoring Earth Day Future! – We invite the St. Luke’s community and others to celebrate pollinators April 30th at 11:00 am in the Undercroft! Dr. Karen Goodell will share her expertise about native bees. Come to learn what we can do to help bees at home in in public spaces.
Especially ones who have specialized dietary needs. Dr. Karen Goodell initiated the Ohio Bee Survey and conducts research on “specialist bees”. These species will not persist unless we help foster the plant species that they require for food. We will discuss ways to become better stewards of biodiversity and promote pollinators. Bees need us!
The Licking County Pollinator Pathways Program has many resources for gardeners and supports the development and maintenance of pollinator habitat. Learn about this group and join in the fun through this website - www.lickingpollinatorpathway.org
We also invite you to check out the Homegrown National Park initiative at homegrownnationalpark.org, a “grassroots call-to-action to regenerate biodiversity” through fostering native plants.
Bring your ideas, questions, inspiration, and your friends to St. Luke’s for more discussion on April 30th, 11:00 am in the Undercroft! Gardeners welcome! It will be “the bees needs”!
