Junior Warden Report

Buildings and Grounds

As summer nears its end, I wanted to take a minute to thank some helpful folks: Dave Procter, Garrett Hinton, Karen Goodell, Bill Wilken, Keith Myers and Jean Schelhorn.

Garrett Hinton is a Granville High School freshman who we hired to mow, weed, mulch and just help keep the St. Luke’s grounds stay presentable. Garrett has been dependable and willing to help however and whenever needed. If you get a chance, head out to a football game and cheer Garrett and the Aces on. Dave Procter continues to oversee the flowers and watering and overall exterior beautification of our outside. You can cheer him on any day of the week. He needs your support – he lives with Wayne (LOL). And Dr. Karen, thank you for the neat Pollinators Pathway Garden. You, too, are cool and deserve a cheering section of your own.

Bill Wilken and Keith Myers have been diligently overseeing the progress in the Chancel and Parish House. Work continues on both fronts. You will soon see new, BIG doors being installed on the west side of the Parish House and brick tuckpointing and sealing will also occur. We should thank Bill and Keith for their leadership in these capital improvements. They spend so much energy on the projects and so much time together I’ve heard them referred to as “The Property Brothers.”

We also need to thank the 2023 Vestry for their faith in these guys and their vision for the improvements. Thanks also to the 2024 Vestry for approving an additional expenditure to our capital projects. Lastly, we need to thank Treasurer Jean Schelhorn. Because of her considerable knowledge of St. Lukes finances and due to her tireless effort, the vestry can effect this much needed work AND be good stewards with St. Luke's money.
