A Day In The Life Of A Practicing Buddhist

Join us, January 12, 10:00 am, for an engaging Coffee: Grounds for Discussion presented by Lama Adam Berner and Steve Thaxton.

Since graduating from the traditional three-year retreat at the Karme Ling Retreat Center in Delhi, New York, Lama Adam Berner has taught all over the world including serving as Buddhist chaplain at Denison University. His teachings range from traditional Buddhist Dharma to secular trauma-sensitive mindfulness. He is the founder Mindfulness for Life, a non-profit outreach organization that brings cost-free mindfulness and meditation training to communities in need. Lama Adam will speak on the essential tenets and practices of Buddhism and how the relate to people of all traditions. Steve Thaxton is an engineer for Owens Corning, a lifelong Buddhist lay practitioner, and the assistant director of Columbus Karma Thegsum Choling, one of the nation's largest centers for the practice of the Karma Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. Steve will offer a glimpse of what a day in the life of a lay practitioner entails.
